About Robert Pepi

With over 40 harvests under his belt, and a resume including wineries such as Robert Pepi, Stimson Lane, Whitehall Lane and Valentin Bianchi (Argentina), it is our great pleasure to bring an evening with famed California winemaker, Robert Pepi Jr.  Robert “Bob” Pepi Jr. is excited to showcase some of his smallest production wines from the Two Angels and Eponymous wineries with grapes coming from the Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley & High Valley, CA.   In 2000, a unique opportunity arose for Bob to enter into a long-term arrangement with an exceptional Napa Valley vineyard to utilize their grapes in the production of the first wine he has owned since leaving the family winery.  The result… Eponymous! Eponymous is a powerful Cabernet Sauvignon that has really tapped into the great pleasure Bob gets from making great wines and brings to vivid life his philosophy that wine should be about fun and enjoyment.  Two years later, another vineyard – this time just over the ridge of the Mayacamus Mountains in Sonona – caught his eye.  Thus, his second Eponymous — a Meritage named after the MacAllister vineyard from where the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc come – was born.    In mid-2011, Bob introduced a Cabernet Franc to the Eponymous label, and shortly thereafter, a very limited production Rose. In Bob’s free time away from his own Eponymous winery, he makes wines for a handful of wineries around the world, one close to home being the Two Angels winery based out of High Valley, CA.  Tonight, Bob will give us the opportunity to taste the Two Angels Sauvignon Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc being his original claim to fame when he was winemaker of the world famous Two-Heart Canopy SB).

Eponymous Wines

Eponymous Wines is a California winery that produces wines from grapes grown at a couple of different vineyards. Eponymous means, “one for whom or which something is or is believed to be named”. Mr. Pepi says he named his wine Eponymous because he could not use his family name on his own bottle of wine. ep-o-nym-ous for whom or which something is or is believed to be named 2. a play on words by one who is unable to use his family name on his own bottle of wine.

Chicken Liver Pate – Sour cherry preserves, frisee, crostini.
Pine Nut Hummus – Flatbread, meyer lemon, olive oil.
Market Greens – Heirloom tomato, bellavitano, sherry vinaigrette.


Ricotta Gnocchi – Oyster mushroom, spinach, squash, saba.
Stonington Mussels – Nueske’s cherrywood bacon, leek, tomato, cilantro.
Smoked Duck Breast – Farro, rhubarb, cauliflower, natural jus.


Oat Tart – Fig, brown butter, salted caramel ice cream.
Bittersweet Chocolate Espresso Budino – Salted ganache, nib.
Olive Oil Cake – Market berries, feather fence goat’s milk yogurt.
